ABOUT

Ashli C. Carroll

Ashli has a holistic perspective regarding estate planning because she values collaboration with her clients, financial advisors and insurance providers if clients work with other financial professionals. The scope of Ashli’s practice ranges from basic estate planning to complex high-net-worth estate planning to Elder Law and VA Benefits, Business Law, Real Estate Law, and Federal Tax Law, all of which is encompassed in a client-centered planning process called Legacy & Generational Wealth Planning℠.

Ashli is teacher at heart. She takes time to educate her clients about the basics of Legacy & Generational Wealth Planning℠, which she likens to building a house. "In order to build a sturdy house, we have to build a strong foundation," Ashli says. The foundational basics are the primary educational component of empowering her clients to collaborate with her in designing a plan her clients understand and know when and how to use each document. "My clients are clients for life. They know I'm always here for them and their families," she explains as she discusses how her vision for Legacy Law Collaborative is to promote genuine legal advocacy with highly-skilled legal acumen from a trauma-informed perspective. Ashli considers it an honor to use her legal credentials to help people in need of peace of mind in knowing their estate is in order, assurance that their loved ones are cared for in the way the client wants to provide, and that their legacy and wealth will carry on for generations. To Ashli, it is a privilege to walk with her clients throughout the years as their family tree grows, as they build wealth and celebrate their successes, when they retire and get to do all the fun things they have dreamt of, and when the tough moments inevitably come. She stands ready to serve her clients and their families for life.

Ashli was born and raised in a small, close-knit community located in rural South Alabama. Growing up in the country is a special part of her life -it's where she learned to drive just about anything, enjoyed racing 4-wheelers with her cousins, and spent significant treasured moments with extended family, especially her Grandmother and Granddaddy who babysat her from Day 1 until she was old enough to get off the school bus at home. Ashli attributes the frequent compliment that she is an "old soul" to her southern roots and especially to her special relationships with her grandparents and great-grandparents.

Ashli moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia over a decade ago, and she discovered a new home and a place to establish roots with her two teenagers, family, and friends. When Ashli is not working, she's either at the beach, cuddled up with her loved ones and fur babies, Abbi and Bon Jovi, watching movies, or working with horses. Ashli is also in the beautiful Greenville, SC area quite a bit. In her spare time in the Upstate of South Carolina, Ashli enjoys visiting the local racetrack as it reminds her of the days when her uncles used to race on dirt tracks in Alabama. She has found a love for hiking to discover waterfalls and enjoying the beauty of nature.

Ashli also has a passion for horses, specifically, how horses aid in human development and trauma therapy. She is currently pursuing credentials as an Equine Assisted Coach (EAC) to help trauma survivors and burnt out professionals interact with horses and recognize the beautiful bond of trust between the horse and the person, which is so empowering and therapeutic. Professional and personal wellness is very important to Ashli, which is why trauma-informed legal practices is a cause she advocates for within her professional legal community. “We are our best selves and a better advocate for our clients when we, the attorneys and legal staff, practice self-care” Ashli says. She also has a passion for community involvement, specifically in anti-human trafficking educational and legislative efforts, volunteering at Living Waters Ministry, a retreat ministry for people in all walks of life to find refuge and inner-healing through their Healing the Heart message.
